Breakfast with the Birds is back for 2022! We’ve taken the opportunity to try something a bit different – a morning only event, no overnight stay at the lodge.

You’ll be up early and driving on quiet roads to reach the forest at 6am. We’ll welcome you in the pre-dawn glow, offer a hot drink, and get you into position for the dawn chorus. Be immersed in the sounds of the forest greeting a new day, expertly narrated by our bird identification guru Paul Cuming. Once the sun has risen, a delicious breakfast awaits in our kohanga. Enjoy a talk from Julian Fitter, naturalist and author, followed by a volunteer-guided experience of our restoration work in the forest. The event will finish at around 10am.

The number of attendees is very limited and tickets are $25 each. To secure yours, email events@aongateteforest.org. We will confirm your booking, and then ask you to provide payment.

We respectfully suggest this experience is best for those age 12 and up. Breakfast with the Birds 2022 will be undercover but not ‘inside’, making this event well ventilated and low risk from a Covid perspective.
