It’s the final baiting operation for the year! Can you help? We’re deploying diphacinone bait across 500 hectares to ensure rats are managed whilst our amazing forest birds fledge their chicks. Level 2 Covid protocols will be in place for a BBQ breakfast (smashed avo and grilled bacon buns) to thank our volunteers for all their amazing efforts in 2021!
Meet at the kohanga at 8.30am. Clothing and footwear should be suitable for walking off track and any unexpected weather conditions, plus bring a backpack, gloves, and medicines you need and carry a full bottle of water. We’ll provide you with a map and full instructions. We’ll have the kettle on so you can enjoy a hot drink once you’re back out of the bush.
We love seeing new faces, so if you’re keen to volunteer, please get in touch – make sure you check out our Get Involved page for all the details, including how to register before you come out to the forest.
If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. As always, our activities in the bush are weather permitting – please check this website or our Facebook page for advice on postponements and cancellations.
