POSTPONED! The forest is completely saturated and it’s very slippery underfoot. We’re taking a cautious approach for everyone’s safety.  Keep your eyes peeled for a new date for the baiting campaign early in January when (hopefully) it will have stopped raining…

It’s the summer baiting operation. We’re deploying diphacinone into bait stations to keep a lid on the rat invasion into our pest controlled area over the silly season. The BBQ will be fired up for a delicious smashed avo + bacon bun as a ‘thank you volunteers’ breakfast for your wonderful efforts this year.  We’ll have the kettle on so you can enjoy a hot drink with a piece of Christmas cake once you’re out of the bush too!

Meet at the kohanga at from 8.00am. Clothing and footwear should be suitable for walking off track and any unexpected weather conditions, plus bring gloves, any medicines you need and carry a full bottle of water. We’ll provide you with a map and full instructions.

As always, our activities in the bush are weather permitting – please check this website or our Facebook page for advice on postponements and cancellations.

We love seeing new faces, so if you’re keen to volunteer, please get in touch – make sure you check out our Get Involved page for all the details, including how to register before you come out to the forest.
