It’s phase 2 of our most recent baiting operation. We’re bringing back in any uneaten diphacinone and leaving the forest toxin-free over the silly season. Then the BBQ is being fired up for lunch. You’re warmly invited to enjoy a delicious burger – featuring some very local venison – as our way of saying ‘thank you’ for your tremendous volunteers efforts this year. There might even be a a piece of Christmas cake on offer too!
Meet at the kohanga at 9.00am (note, later start time). Clothing and footwear should be suitable for walking off track and any unexpected weather conditions, plus bring gloves, any medicines you need and carry a full bottle of water. We’ll provide you with a map and full instructions.
Not keen or able to go into the forest at the moment? No matter, we’d love to see all our volunteers for lunch anyway! RSVP’s appreciated to help us with catering.
As always, our activities in the bush are weather permitting. Our backup date is Sunday 17th December. We’ll send out an email if we need to postpone, but check this website or our Facebook page to stay up to date.
We love seeing new faces, so if you’re keen to volunteer, please get in touch – make sure you check out our Get Involved page for all the details, including how to register before you come out to the forest.
