Due to wet weather, this planting day is being deferred until the following day, SUNDAY (June 28th).
It’s been a long time in the planning, but we’re finally able to make a start on the re-vegetation of the paddock that the kohanga sits in! It’s been too dry to plant to date, but the soil is now moist enough. The area immediately behind the car park fence will be planted first, in a deep band of flax, cabbage tree and toetoe.
Keen to help us transform the paddock from boring to beautiful? Then bring along a spade and gardening gloves! There will be baked treats and a hot drink to reward your efforts 🙂
AFP would like to acknowledge Lions Katikati for their generous grant that has helped purchase the plants for this area.
