SPRING BAITING CAMPAIGN: Phase 1. Today we’ll be placing diphacinone bait throughout the 500ha of the AFP pest managed area, to ensure our precious birds can get nesting underway without being molested by rats. Your help would really be welcome to get this important mahi done.
Meet at the kohanga at 8.30am. Clothing and footwear should be suitable for walking off track and any unexpected weather conditions, plus bring a backpack, gloves and carry a full bottle of water. We’ll provide you with a map and instructions. Enjoy a hot drink & a biscuit or pikelet once you’re back out of the bush.
We love seeing new faces, so if you’re keen to volunteer, please get in touch – make sure you check out our Get Involved page for all the details, including how to register before you come out to the forest.
As always, our activities in the bush are weather permitting – please check this website or our Facebook page for advice on postponements and cancellations.
