Whilst the forest tracks around Aongatete remain out of bounds until DOC advise they’ve dealt with the the track damage and tree fall, we can still work in the kohanga clearing. There is the task of releasing to do – it’s been a good growing seasons for weeds and trees if nothing else. We have some smothered native plantings in various parts of the paddock so bring your gloves and your favourite tool if you have one.
We suggest you wear clothing and footwear that protects your arms and legs, as well as a hat and any medication you need. Arrive at the kohanga at 8:30 am and we’ll enjoy a hot cuppa for morning tea.
Note, volunteer days that involve field work at AFP are weather dependent. We may need to postpone or cancel if it’s too wet/windy. We will update this calendar and post on our Facebook page if that is the case.
