Under Alert Level 3, conservation activities that are considered essential may be permitted, but physical distancing and safety, especially for our older volunteers, must come first. We are awaiting guidance from DOC on this and will update our Events info when we know more.

This is our regular volunteer day. The morning is either ‘work’ focused – helping with ongoing pest management operations and maintenance OR has a ‘discovery’ focus. Arrive at the kohanga ready to go at 9am, and enjoy a morning cuppa and a chat before you head home at approx 12 noon.

Work days – there are plenty of tasks on offer. Bring clothing and footwear suitable for walking both on and off track in the bush, gloves and pair of secateurs.

Discovery days – join us for the morning and be rewarded by discovering aspects of the Project and the forest you might not have seen before. Each Discovery Day has a different theme and these will be confirmed the month before the event. Bring clothing and footwear suitable for walking both on and off track, water, personal medication etc. The allocated day for our discovery events may change depending on the event and the weather.
