We’d love you to join us!
We warmly welcome volunteers who are able to give their time to help us with all kinds of on-going tasks or one-off events, from baiting to baking, trapping to typing.
Each month, we run ‘volunteer days’ on the first and third Wednesday mornings in Aongatete forest at the top of Wright Road. These mornings have a work focus or a ‘discovery’ focus – there are many interesting things to learn about or do in the bush besides pest control.
Throughout the year, specific Saturday mornings are earmarked for major pest control campaigns, which is when many pairs of hands are essential. There’s always a hot cup or tea or coffee on offer at the kohanga once you’re done and usually a bit of home baking too!
The best way to get involved is to register using the form below. You will be added to our email newsletter list and we will be in touch to provide further details about volunteering at the Project.
To prepare yourself for volunteering in the forest we’ve got guidelines that you’ll need to be familiar with, so please read or download our Health & Safety Handbook for Volunteers.
We have a more detailed form that all new volunteers need to complete also, download it here.
The Project is a registered charitable trust (Aongatete Forest Restoration Trust CC37006). All donations are very welcome and every little bit helps us continue our conservation work.
Alternatively, make a deposit directly to our bank account: Aongatete Forest Restoration Trust BNZ 02-0340-0007399-00
We gratefully acknowledge the support we’ve already received from many individuals and organisations.
